Let me first clarify one thing about Makita cordless tools so you don’t labor under the impression that I have a beef to grind with the Makita brand. In fact that’s the furthest thing from the truth. The bottom line is that I at one time owned more than 7 various Makita cordless tools ranging anywhere from drills to circular saws to a very nice ½ inch impact wrench that came in handy more than a few times on job sites.

As many of you well know, I like various brand of tools and Makita is one of them. Makita cordless tools are what I like to call professional grade tools. And since they are considered such, they also have a very high resale value on the open market. So why am I telling you this? Being in the construction business, one tends to carry all their tools in their truck or van. Me, I had a truck with a cap and in the back I had everything somewhat organized along with my various Makita cordless tools in their carrying cases. Now usually on a job site I kept this locked so none of my tools would grow legs and walk away. One day I needed to purchase some bathroom tile for a house that was under construction so off I headed to the large box store. I won’t mention any names by the way because it might sound like sour grapes on my part.

I knew I was going to be retiring soon and I knew that I had still had some excellent quality tools in my workshop for the various projects that I still do for family and friends. Do I miss them? Maybe at this point I should tell you that I loved every one of the Makita cordless tools that I had. And Makita was one of the brand names that I saw an awful lot of from the tradesmen that I saw on various sites and for good reason. These tools flat out kick butt. They are light, they are compact, and they carry one hell of a wallup for cordless rigs. In my opinion, you could actually classify Makita cordless tools as professional grade hand tools. They really are that good.
Would I recommend Makita cordless tools to everybody? Probably not. Why? Because if you don’t need high grade, professional caliber tools and are willing to invest a bit more to get that, then they aren’t for you. But if you depend on your tools day in and day out to support your family, oh hell yes, you can not go wrong with Makita cordless tools.
