Maybe it’s because I have a tendency to linger in the tool aisle and look at all the shiny new Craftsman mechanics tool sets and try to figure out just what I DON’T have already! Have I told you guys that I’m a bit of a tool addict? Well, I am. And Craftsman and I go back a very long way.

In fact, you could say I’m a third generation Craftsman tool user. My father and grandfather both swore by the brand. In fact I have tools sitting in one of my tool boxes from both of those guys that are probably over 50 years old and they still work just fine. Now to me, that’s what I call making quality tools.

Now, I have to be honest here, I’m not a mechanic. Far from it. But when I was involved in the construction business, I made sure that I always had Craftsman tools on the job. And the reason for that was quite simple. Stuff breaks when you least expect it and if you can’t fix it on a job site, I hate to say it, you’re screwed in a big way. But being the smart guy that I am ( yes that’s a shameless plug!) I was usually able to repair things and keep down time to an absolute minimum. OK, I take that back, it was usually one of the other guys who used these awesome mechanics tool sets to get things repaired and I just kind of supervised. (smile)
Another reason why I love Craftsman is that no matter how hard I use a tool, and trust me, at times they get used pretty hard and in some unconventional ways, if something breaks (yeah, I’ve broken a few tools here and there, but we won’t go into that) all I need to do is take it back and either have it repaired or get a replacement on the spot. Can you think of any other company that does that without making you jump through hoops? And honor a warranty for life? Truthfully I can’t think of very many. Now you see why I have such a loyalty with the Craftsman brand of hand tools.
In fact, I’m starting a fourth generation of Craftsman hand tool users as each one of my sons received a Craftsman set when they graduated. Hey, I’m not big on gifts that don’t get used! And actually the reason for doing that was two fold. One, so they have good quality tools to use around the house and to tinker with their various toys, and two, it keeps them out my tool boxes!
Look, I won’t keep rambling on about Craftsman mechanics tool sets, you already know where I stand. Good tools, good prices and a company that stands behind their product. And you can get these sets for just about anything you can think of from a nice starter set all the way up to sets that contain over a 1000 tools. Oh my, can you imagine 1000 new tools?
