In all honesty, I don’t have any, nor have I bought any Channellock tool sets. Ok? BUT, I do own at least 6 pieces of Channellock tools and I don’t think any of them has been bought within the last 5 years. I know this to be true because I went out and looked. Hmm, thought I had more than that. Funny how at times tools grow feet and walk off. But that’s for another post.

So, since I set this site up as a resource for you guys, and gals, I thought I would do just a bit of investigating. And the only reason why I wanted to find out, is that many companies will sell you tool sets and it ends up that you actually pay more! And I was hoping that this wouldn’t be the case with Channellock because it’s another one of those companies that I really admire.

Now since there are so many different varieties of Channellock tools, I took what I found to be the most popular selling tool sets which consisted of 5 of the most popular tools in their lineup. Just so you know, the set consisted of the famous tongue and groove pliers, a diagonal cutter, a crimper and cutter combination tool, a long pair of needle nose and a pair of slip joint pliers. I added everything up for these tools then compared it to the price of the set. And here is what I found. You will save over 19 percent if you buy these in a set versus buying individually! YAY! So I guess that confirms my thoughts on Channellock tool sets, buy the set and save some cash.

Personally, if these tool kits would have been around when I bought my Channellock tools, I don’t think I would have hesitated one bit to buy everything at one time. I like the quality of a tool made by this company. They take a beating on a job site and they still perform when I go to use them again. And I never have to worry about a tool slipping and busting up my knuckles. Ughh, I hate when that happens! And that’s why I refuse to buy poor quality tools.

Channellock has been producing high quality tools going on 125 years so the way I look at it, they must be doing something right. Another thing about these tools is that they all are made here in the USA in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Always have been. Something I also admire in an age where everything seems to be made offshore.
And the tools that you find in any of the tool sets are the same tools that are sold outright on a individual basis. No substitutes or inferior quality just to make an attractive set price. Nope, that ain’t happening here so put your mind at ease.
Look, if you’re in the market to replace some old worn out tools, and you want to save some of your hard earned cash, then I wholeheartedly recommend any one of the Channellock tool sets that are now being marketed. Period.
