First off I’m going to tell you that I like these Black and Decker tool kits. In fact, I’ve recommended Black and Decker tool kits to a lot of my friends and never had to worry about it coming back and biting me in the butt so to speak.
I’ve been a fan of this company since I purchased my very first drill as a young man. Yeah yeah, I know a lot of you are probably saying that had to be a LONG time ago, and for you smart alecks, you’re absolutely correct!
That Black and Decker drill still sits on my bench and I can proudly say that it works just fine even after 35 years of use and abuse.

One of the very first Black and Decker tool kits that I bought for my personal use was when the company first started selling the VersaPak line. Damn, I though that was just the cat’s meow having tools that I could interchange batteries with. The sad part about that is many of my VersaPak tools have come up missing over the years. Remind me not to keep lending things out to my kids will ya?

My father had a Black and Decker drill in the garage. Back then, Black and Decker tool kits didn’t exist yet unless you want to count everything you probably got when you bought a drill. Now to me that drill seemed monstrous! And since I liked to experiment when he wasn’t looking I took the drill and wanted to drill some holes in a homemade skateboard (another one of my experiments).

Needless to say, since I really didn’t know what I was doing, I snapped the bit. And since I had no clue on how to take the darn thing out and hide it I had no choice but to admit my guilt to my Dad. Boy oh boy, I mowed a lot of lawn that summer! But besides all that, I did get my first lesson in proper drill usage, something I will never forget.
My whole point here is this, Black and Decker has been around forever. And in my opinion, they have to be doing something right to keep staying in business.

Now let’s talk more about these Black and Decker tool kits for just a little bit. When Black and Decker came out with their Firestorm series of tools, I really didn’t jump on the bandwagon. I waited until they came out with the 24V version! Now as far as tool kits go, this one just kicks butt!
I now have 4 tools that I don’t have to worry about running electrical cords for. A drill, a reciprocating saw, a 7 1/4 inch circular saw and a jigsaw. Did I tell you I absolutely hate running electrical cords when working on a job? That in itself was one of the key reasons why I love these types of Black and Decker tools.
As you can see, Black and Decker has a great line of tool kits that now come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. In fact, you can even consider some of the drill kits that they now offer when you’re in the market to add a nice power drill to your arsenal.
All I can tell you about these Black and Decker tool kits is that I use them. I like them. And yes, I do have other brands of tools besides. And like I said at the very beginning of this page, I would recommend them in a heartbeat.
